Learning Out in the World- Field Work 

At Sitton Elementary School, we believe in the transformative power of field experiences, recognizing them as essential components of a well-rounded education. Throughout the academic year, every grade level participates in three fieldwork experiences (field trips, expert panels, performances, or fairs) designed to complement our core curriculum in literacy, math, social studies, or science. These excursions serve as invaluable opportunities for students to apply their classroom learning in real-world contexts, fostering the development of critical thinking skills and deepening their understanding of academic concepts.

Beyond academics, field experiences also play a crucial role in fostering joy, building community, and strengthening connections between students and their surroundings. Whether exploring local ecosystems, visiting historical landmarks, or engaging with experts in various fields, students develop a sense of curiosity and appreciation for the world around them. These experiences not only enrich their education but also instill a sense of pride and belonging within our school community.
